This is going to be a very scattered post. I am feeling very distracted; I have Poppet sitting next to me singing her ABC's, Lucy & Ricky (the goats) bleating outside our kitchen window, and Lolly talking in her gibberish from her highchair. I have nothing of much interest to write...but I'm in the mood to write something.
Today I worked until 3:00. I pretty much only cleaned today, since the kids are back in school, except for Hudson and Addie (who are the babies) and Bennett, who is getting homeschooled this year.
(In response to a comment: Sunblock every hour sounds great...hopefully I've learned my lesson and you won't hear me objecting next time! And yes, it can get worse, you were right. )
Now for a update on my current burn...My arms and my shoulders aren't very red anymore, but my neck is still very tender and my nose is peeling, which really stinks. I haven't peeled in probably three years, so this is a somewhat "new" experience...one I hope to not experience again. We are going camping this weekend, and I am trying to decided whether I should use coconut or sunblock. I know that sounds stupid, considering my current situation...but I'd love to give coconut oil another chance. Believe me or not, coconut does work. (I'm starting to think it only works if used every hour, and if you aren't in direct sun (i.e. the ocean) but maybe in your backyard?)
Have any of you ever heard of Brocoflower? It is a mix of broccoli and cauliflower. Personally, it tastes identical to cauliflower, but it is a light green color. I've never seen one of these before, so I took a picture of it for my readers. I prefer it over plain cauliflower...I like eating colors.
I don't know how many of you know about my dislike for meat. I'm pretty sure I've never blogged on this, but I hate meat with a capital "H." It tastes dead...obviously. I don't really know why I don't like it, but for some reason it makes me feel nauseated. I also don't eat anything that lives or lived in the water...ever, and animals that people name are also off limits. I prefer a big salad or veggies over meat! About a year ago I completely quit eating meat (with an exception: once every month or so, I'd eat a burger or chicken breast). I was studying my eyes not long ago (It's called iridology, which is the inspection of the iris. Our eyes are set up like clocks, if I see a dot in your "4 o'clock zone," I can say, "Oh, that's your liver...it is weakened." ect.) and I noticed to my horror I had a red dot on my 7 o'clock zone. After I did some muscle testing and worked with the gal who is a certified master herbalist and has been mentoring me this year as I am preparing to take my final exam to become a CMH myself, I found out that my left kidney was dying...because it was starving from a lack of animal protein. OOOPPPSSS...I started eating meat again, but I will still only eat boneless meat. Basically: Chicken breasts, turkey, (I never eat pig) tri-tip and ground beef. Anyways, my dot is still there...it will take a while to go away, after all, my kidney was in a weakened state. Now that I am done rambling, I can say what all this has to do with what I was about to say. Even though I started eating meat again, I still don't like it, but I do eat it. Last night I went to my friend Annie's house for dinner. Part of the meal was chicken breasts...it was amazing. I craved it all day long!! (At work today, I called my mom to see if she wanted to make me some chicken and bring it to me...she said "no.") Anyways, for dinner tonight, I made Chicken fettucini. I used the brocoflower, dried tomatoes, and chicken in it. I took a picture of it; it doesn't look very appetizing, but it was. (I like taking pictures of food. I made Oriental Chicken Salad and Carrot bread for dinner a few nights ago and took some pictures. They turned out beautifully, I plan on blogging them eventually. It just takes too long to get my camera out and hook it up to the computer to post pictures from my camera, which is why my VBS pictures still aren't up. I used my mom's camera to snap a picture of this meal.)
I've gone two days without eating ice cream, I'm starting to feel tweaky. (I hope you guys know that I'm joking...about the tweaky part.) We are supposed to have some later on this evening. You know that you have an ice cream addiction (my dad jokes that the way to my heart is through icecream...sadly there may be some truth to that. ) when during a family meeting about our upcoming camping trip, my dad says, "Is there anything any of you want to discuss?" Yes...I raised my hand and discussed my concern about how we will bring ice cream with us, without it melting. By the time the meeting had adjourned, it was decided that I could buy us a bucket of ice cream one evening at camp. I'm really excited...because we won't have a freezer, so we will have to finish the entire bucket off in one sitting!! (Woot, Woot!)
I was planning on writing more, but my siblings are taking the ice cream out.
I thought it would be fun to do a guestbook for those who come and visit my little corner of the world. It would be fun to hear from you, would you sign my guestbook?
