I thought it would be fun to do a guestbook for those who come and visit my little corner of the world. It would be fun to hear from you, would you sign my guestbook? ~Shyloh~

Latest money making scheme

Ok...so as if I didn't learn my lesson from my last Internet mistake (I.E. the candy sticks...)

Guess what I did this time?

I went nuts on ebay...
and bid on...
26 14 carat white gold diamond rings.
Count them...26.

I didn't intend on bidding on any rings, here is how the situation started.

My parents give us kids our purity rings on our 16th birthday. I told my parents that I will look around online and find the best deals for Shelbie's ring. (I offered my assistance, because I'm so good maneuvering online. HA!) My mom semi took me up on that offer and since then I have been finding really pretty rings for great prices.

Well a few nights ago I was on one particular site and found this gorgeous ring for $8.00. This site is especially cool, because it shows you the certificate of autenticness and also the retail value. This $8.00 ring retailed for $1300!! I was amazed! Immediately my first thought was..."If I buy this ring, I could totally turn around and sell it to a pawn shop for even a few hundred!! I could make a ton on this!" So I started looking around. Then, I thought, "I should check ebay..."

oh boy...

26 bids later I panicked. ("Did I really just bid on 26 diamond rings???") LOL, yes I did. Since that evening I have gone crazy! I decided I am starting a new business. I haven't decided what this one should be called yet. I have currently won 3 rings, and thankfully have been outbid on most of them.

I ended up bidding on many more rings over the next few days (right now, I have about 40 I've bid on.)

The jewelry business is a very hard business to win at, I must say. The competition is very high. My goal with these won rings, is to turn around and put them in the paper for triple what I paid, or even pawn shop them. (pawn shops only pay 1/3rd the valued price though.)

I'm having a lot of fun attempting this--even though my family thinks I'm insane. LOL, Jeff thinks I am addicted, my mom thinks I'm wasting my time, and my dad just rolls his eyes. :)

Any ideas on names for my new company?

(BTW...I know authenticness isn't a word...)

I haven't actually updated for a while...

Our marriage license issues have worked out just fine. We ended up not even applying for a state issued license. We are going to have a Quaker Marriage License. (Basically: Quakers believe it is God who marries them--not man. They do not go to the state to get married. Their license consists of a homemade certificate that the bride and groom plus their wedding guests all sign. It is completely legal and the state will recognize it as a valid license.) When I turn 18 (two months after we are married,) we will still go apply for a real license.

All my invitations are finally out--woohoo. I get so excited when we get a response card back! Bridal shower invites are also out--yay!
Last night we went to my father-in-law's house. We spent several hours planning our honeymoon and booking hotel rooms. Man, I am so glad we actually have a game plan. LOL, my goal was to just drive and see where we end up. Yikes!!

Our plan is to leave on the evening of the 22nd and stay in a quaint bed and breakfast in Monterrey. The next morning we will travel along the coast line and stop at a few places along the way (I.E. Hearst Castle & Morrow Bay...did I spell that right?) then stay that night in Solvang (which is a Swedish colony) then the next day finish the journey to San Diego. We will stay 3 nights in San Diego, then go to Anaheim (Disney Land) for two days...then head home! It will be busy, for sure...but tons of fun!

Its so relieving seeing some of these plans come together!!

Today we got really bad news...

I guess since I'm a minor obtaining a marriage license is going to be a much harder process. I guess it's much more indepth. We have a lot of papers to fill out, have to submit them all to a judge, we have an actual "case number," have a $320 fee to pay to get our papers processed and still, even with all of this, there is a huge possibility of the judge calling us and telling us no, we can't obtain a license. Ugh...please keep this in your prayers. I am really stressed out about this.

Home sweet home

I'm finally posting!!

I've been out of state for a little over a week. I went up to Idaho with some friends to stay with Annie and her family. They own land right on the edge of Hayden Lake. It was a lot of fun, we had a lovely time. I drove up with Chris, Mandy and James. It was a loooonnnggg drive and my rear hurt so bad when we finally got there. :-D We drove straight through; Mandy, Chris and I took turns driving. It was a fun drive, and really pretty (except in a few places.) It was 14 hours there and 15 home. We actually made really really good time.

I didn't take many pictures unfortunately. Out of all the days we were there, it was raining and thundering (called a "Shnook"). We spent a lot of time in town and in Washington. We went tubing, wakeboarding and single skiing a lot. Us girls did a lot of canoeing and boating, while the guys did a lot of hunting. (Poor little squirrels...) I came back very sunburnt, but I am not complaining--it's color, isn't it?

We went to bed every night around midnight or one-ish, and I slept every morning until past 11. It was awesome. :) The sad thing, is I was ready for a nap 3 hours later. lol.

I missed my family and Jeff very badly that week and was very happy to come home and see them again. They took me to our (jeff and mine) house when I got back. I was very surprised, they had the livingroom floor finished and all my cupboards in the process of being sanded and painted. Sweet Jeff went out and bought a bunch of paint (I left my color swatches for him..."just incase" he wanted to get some paint.) lol. I loved the colors and my livingroom looks BEAUTIFUL with the wood!

Shannen (my brother) is sanding my piano right now. I am going to paint it and rough it up and put it in my livingroom. My family says I am Walt Disney. I have color EVERYWHERE in my house!! My kitchen is 3 different colors, laundry room 2 different colors, livingroom, bathroom, and two bedrooms all vary in color. LOL, my aunt walks in and worries about going blind. After it's all done, I'll post pictures.

K, that's all for now. TTFN!

I've been gone for a week. Now I am back and am down to 5 weeks to go...

Tomorrow I am going to work on invitations. We need to get them out.

Wednesday I have my final dress altering appointment. I can't wait to see it.

We need to go to tux.
Get our ring sized, engraved, sautered.
GET MARRIAGE LICENSE!!!

The house is coming along. We have wood in our livingroom and bedroom. The wood makes my blue paint (on my livingroom wall) look AMAZING! We are working on sanding and painting the kitchen now. Then we need to work on our room.

I had a weird dream last night that the wedding was over, and we were opening our gifts and over half the gifts were the weird things we registered for. (Like things we don't actually need, we would just see and scan for the fun of it.) So the first thing I did today was get online and ammend my registry. LOL.
