I thought it would be fun to do a guestbook for those who come and visit my little corner of the world. It would be fun to hear from you, would you sign my guestbook? ~Shyloh~

annoying comment poster

I'd really love it if my mom would quit leaving comments on my blog. It's starting to get annoying.

First "Real" Post

I still don't have a final title for my blog page...for you who post comments: I'm open for options.

I love writing, and always have a lot to write, but for some reason blogging really kind of creeps me out. This is actually my second blog, and hopefully I'll actually keep up with this one. My last blog was independent from the family web site, and I updated it a total of three times, before I deleted my posts and erased the blog. I find it strange to have people (other than my family) read what I have to write. I am however, going to attempt to keep it updated. It will be mainly superficial posts, though; I prefer to keep my true thoughts and feelings to myself.

Today I had to work. Joslyn gave me a list of chores to do and said she wanted to go take a rest. While she was resting, I finished off the list of chores and straightened her house. She woke up from her nap around 1:00 and came downstairs and said, "Well, since you are done with your list, I'd like for you to come with me to the doctor's office. Addie and Hudson both need a shot, and I'm going to need help holding them down." (AAAAAHHHHH!!) So, I went with her, and quickly discovered...I have a deep fear of doctors and their offices. Those little white rooms...that freakishly clean smell...and that clear container full of little lollipops. (Not to mention those metal utensils which leave waaaayyy too much room for imagination...)Anyhow, when the doctor came in with the needles, I must have started squirming, because Joslyn said, "Shyloh, why don't you just stand outside...you look like you want to crawl up a wall." I quickly agreed to this and stood outside the door, listening to Addie scream her head off. After we left the doctors office, Joslyn made fun of me. She asked me how I plan on taking my own children to the doctor's office, if I can't even walk into a doctor's office without getting goosebumps and having the hair on my arms raise.

Most people know that I am TERRIBLE with directions. I can't get anywhere without help. I am lucky that I know how to get to my own house from the end of my own road. I've told Joslyn about my lack of directional skills and she keeps telling me to learn how to read a map. Well, I've always said, "Why learn how to read a map, if I can just go buy a GPS system?" She says that even GPS systems have flaws, and "besides...reading maps are so much fun." (She's blond...okay?) So, today on the way to the doctor's, she handed me a map. She said, "It is now time for map lessons...find the freeway." It took me 20 minutes to find the freeway!! 20 minutes!! After I finally found the freeway, she spent a few minutes trying to teach me how to find roads and how to read a map, long story short, I quickly realized: if I were lost with only a map and a tank of gas...I'd be doomed.

We are having a combined birthday party for Shadd and Shayden on Saturday, for this birthday my mom and I decided to try to make our own pinata (We call them "Candy Bombs"). We are using the biggest balloon I've ever seen, and so far we've put three layers of newspaper and glue (I can't figure out how to spell the word for what this is actually called!)on it. Hopefully it will actually turn out, I'm sure my mom will post picture of it soon.

Verse of the Day:

Ephesians 3:20 (paraphrased...and not by me!)
God laughs at odds. No matter how big the dream, how huge the request, how lofty the hope or even how statistically impossible the task, He can do it--and infinitely immeasurably more. May God be seen for how great He really is!

And by the way...(This is for you, Mama...since you want to play like this...)if my mom posts pictures of the scratch in the van, I'll post a picture of all the dents in the back of the van by the trailer hitch. You'll have to ask my mom about this one!! :)

In reference to the "Taco Bell Drive Thru" my mom refered to...

Okay, so I was just reading what my mom has posted so far…and I am very indignant to her reference about my taco bell incident. I just want everyone to know…I didn’t "dent" the van, it is only a minor scratch.

Under Construction

"Under Construction" isn't my official blog name. I haven't come up with a name yet, but I had to write down something, so until I find the "perfect" name, this is what it is stuck with.
