I've been saving a few light bulbs for several months now, waiting for someone to help me. I had been planning on having someone climb on our roof and drop the light bulbs off of the roof one at a time, so that I could get a really cool picture of the light bulb shattering. Well, nobody who's brave enough to get on our roof has come over in a while, so when James came I was really excited. (not only was he brave enough to get ON the roof...he was also brave enough to jump OFF the roof.) He took the light bulbs up, and dropped them off while I held the button on my camera down the whole time. He dropped 6 light bulbs off, and I didn't get one picture of it shattering!! Finally, we decided to just video tape it...but lo and behold, we were out of film in the video camera. I ended up using my mom's camera to film it. The video turned out perfectly!! And it looked really really cool when it was being rewound. I was going to put it on the computer and make a movie out of it, then I was going to blog the movie, but when I went to transfer it to the computer yesterday, the movie was gone. So, I am really really disappointed, and I am going to start collecting light bulbs again and hopefully sometime soon I can retake the video.

When it was finally dark out, we started the fireworks. My uncle and James lit most of the fireworks, and all the kids handed them the fireworks that they wanted lit. I lit some of them, but since I can't use a lighter (I haven't figured out how to work them without burning my finger tips!) I had to use matches...and those don't work so well for lighting a firework! After all the fireworks were lit, we did sparklers. The kids loved that! Even the little ones liked those!
After fireworks and sparklers we went inside and hung out for a while. Around 11:00 everyone left.
As Poppet would say, "It was a good day."

These are my favorite pictures, the blurry ones are weird, but they are really really cool...at least, I think they are.

This is the coolest picture, it looks like he's a ghost on fire.
