Last week I made some laundry detergent. I wanted to share the recipe with you guys. It makes a lot and cleans just the same as normal laundry soap--plus it's SOOO cheap!!
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Step 1...
Grate 1 bar of Fels Naptha
Step 2...
Find a clean 5 gallon bucket
(I doubled the recipe...hence the two 5 gallon buckets)
Cover the fels naptha with water, turn heat on medium high and stir until completely melted.
Make sure it's melted all the way
1 cup washing soda
1/2 cup borax
(dump into 5 gallon bucket)
Step 6...
add melted soap mix
Stir VERY well
(hehehe....since the bucket is nearly empty at this point, Jeff was disappointed, thinking the recipe would have made more...lol, (remember I wasn't finished yet) I told him if you keep staring and watching, the mixture would expand. i'm so mean. He stood there for a long time!!)
Step 8...
after mixed, fill bucket to the brim with HOT water
Step 9...
Stir well again
Step 10...(This step is optional.)
If you want your soap to have a scent to it, you can add fragrance oil. Add several drops. I added 15 drops and can't really smell it, next time I'm going to add more.
Let sit overnight...and VOILA...finished!
You go girl!
