With that said, I've got a cute Jeff story to share today...
The other day we had woken up and started our day. Jeff usually eats breakfast within 15 minutes of getting up. Before we had even gotten out of bed, he says "Pancakes sound really yummy. I'm going to make some, would you like any?" I said no, of course, and told him to half the recipe. (we use a mix, by the way.) He headed out to the kitchen to begin.
A few minutes later he came back into the room to ask about halving the recipe. I answered his question, and he headed back out. I finished what I was doing in the room and headed out to the kitchen about 15 minutes later. By now, he had the pancakes cooking on the stove.
He says, "I accidentally used a whole cup of milk instead of a half."
I said, "oh bummer, well, you'll have to make the whole recipe now."
He says, "We're out of pancake mix."
I said, "Ooooh...big bummer. Well you'll just have to eat flat pancakes then." (not noticing the beautiful fluffy pancakes he's already got made.)
He says, "Well, it was really runny, so I looked through the cupboards to see if we had anything I could substitute. The only thing I found was that box of Jiffy White Cake Mix. It was the same consistency and texture, so I used a cup of that."
Me... "EEEEEEEWWWWW!!! GROSS!!!"
Lemme just say, these pancakes were horrible tasting. They tasted exactly like a white cake!! Jeff thought they were delicious though, so as long as he liked them...so be it, lol. The worst part of the whole story though, is he still poured syrup on them! YUCK! that's like using syrup on a cake! I told him he should have ate them plain with a scoop of ice cream. hahahaha...
However, as nasty as they were...and as gross as it was to watch him eat his tiny round syrup covered cakes, I did think his thinking was cute. After all, it was the same consistency and texture. :-)
Well that made me laugh and I needed to so thanks! =)
